Santiago is the second most important city on the Dominican Rep. with a population of around 700.000 hab. and 40 different campaigns were held at the same time there last June-July. The Spanish seminar group took 7 of them.

Expectations about attendance and baptisms were not very high as very small congregations were supporting those sites but, once again, the Lord blessed abundantly and 50 baptisms were made between all those 7 campaign sites. 60 more people committed themselves for baptism after some deeper Biblical learning.

ASI Europe collaborated with 300€ per student and that made possible for them to participate on the crusade together with the 1.250 US $ they received from Share Him organisation. Just a small amount more had to be paid by each of them to join the evangelistic trip.

Both members and the local church leaders enjoyed very much the campaigns as the students not only preached their sermons every evening but also helped pastors and elders visiting every day church members and non Adventist people who attended the campaigns. Preaching on the local language makes easier to the preachers to collaborate on other activities out of the every day preaching and that helps a lot to fulfil the mission work.

For the Lord’s glory all were very satisfied with the campaigns and the results obtained after two weeks of hard work and many interesting experiences and more students are ready now for the next evangelistic

trips, if God’s will, very soon.

Just a brief comment about Miriam Sánchez as she is a real and very good example of what our CONECTATE program means for the Spanish youth. She joined by “coincidence” the first Urban Evangelistic Camp we had in Valencia 2005. She just came to visit her uncle’s who were one of the training leaders and Bible teachers at that camp. She was not at all involved on church programs at that time and just had in mind to stay for a weekend but that became a few days more and, finally, the whole camp and, right after that experience that changed her life, she decided to start theology studies and now she is about to finish at our Adventist Seminar in Sagunto for God’s honour and glory.

Our youth are ready for the challenge and only waiting for us to help them develop their ministry. ASI Spain and ASI Europe has the responsibility and the privilege to be the Lord’s hand for that purpose and with His help and orientation we’ll keep on helping and challenging our youth to share Christ around the world.

Thanks very much for “investing” on our youth and supporting them to fulfil the Mission. May God bless ASI and continue to support all our programs for His glory.

Amen.
