Czech and Slovak ASI Chapter held its 5th Convention in Congress Centre ALDIS in Czech town Hradec Králové, December 3-6. “God’s Last Generation Remnant” was an inspiring and time relevant topic of this unforgettable Convention. Presented by Michael Hasel, a well known Archeologist and Professor at Southern Adventist University, fitted exactly to our days.

Program started with a wide range of useful seminars which created friendly and intimate atmosphere full of mutual trust and personal sharing. Varied topics were presented - Bible & Natural Science, Church Planting, Personal Development in Crisis Time, Diversity of Mission Work, Spiritual Care in Hospitals, Current Historical Parallels, Way to Life’s Harmony - and it was seen the great interest of laity people in evangelism. They learn how to share Jesus in their daily lives not only through the seminars but also through the personal testimonies of many people. God is at work with His people was more than obvious message. 12 year-old girl involved in YFJ program as a Bible worker answered the question “Were you not afraid?” with this statement: “I was happy to do something for my Lord Jesus.“

On Sabbath CS Union President Mikuláš Pavlík asked the question what activities should church support more - whether evangelism, humanitarian or social work. Then he pointed out to Jesus who “did and taught” and His disciples who also “did and taught”, but first they spent time with Jesus. Everyone who wants to serve Lord in any area needs to come to Jesus first. We need to be with Jesus first, receive His Spirit and encouragement, and be willing to follow Him in any direction He leads us. Then Jesus can make us His true disciples and co-workers who bring people to His Kingdom.

Radim Passer, ASI-CS President and ASI Europe Vice-President, presented an important message from Revelation. Why did you not tell me? – will be the most terrifying question of lost people to us. We have the responsibility to tell the World about Jesus, wee must not sleep any more.

Michael Hasel preached about Laodicea. He encouraged us to devote our talents and time to our Lord, even at the expense of our leisure time, because only through the work of laity people can God’s work advance. We can get rid of lukewarmness of Laodicea when we do away with the materialism inside and receive God’s commission to preach good news about the salvation in Jesus Christ. We must be concerned about life of every single man we come across in our daily lives. God’s given love inside of our hearts desires for the salvation of others.

God has great plans not only for the developing countries but also for Europe. Young people started the church and young people will finish the work too. Many youth who desire for meaningful life devote their lives to Jesus and mission. Our task is to encourage them and act according to the God’s will so they could see Jesus in us. Michael Hasel finished his sermon with the call and many people came forward and gave their lives to Jesus.

ASI-CS will support 24 projects in 2010. The offering reached 84.600 EUR and exceeded the needs of mission projects of 20.000 EUR. That is amazing! Thanks God! The surplus will be used for the pilot projects “Y4J Slovakia 2010” and “Tanzania 2010”.

We all are very grateful to our God. We all are very grateful for the generous harts of people. And we all want to tell others about our Jesus, about His amazing love. May the Lord of the heaven and the earth bless us in this effort in Europe as well as around the Globe.
